Kensington has been the home to hair off bellair since 1988. The salon started as Kensington Hair and soon became a meeting point for the local community. Kensington artists exhibited their work at the salon, which held several exhibition openings. The place was renamed to Kensington Hair Gallery, then a move around the corner – from Bellair Street to Macaulay Road – inspired its current name.
The salon's name changed a few times, but its focus remained the same: a friendly and professional service.
hair off bellair is a place to feel comfortable amongst friendly, Advanced Stylists. Meeting the clientele's needs is paramount. We actively advise our clients, but their preferences always come first. We want our clients leaving our hair salon feeling they had a unique, positive experience.
The growth and level of excellence reached by hair off bellair in Kensington made Wendy Roberts open another salon as a "natural progression". So hair off bellair West Melbourne, known as hair off bellair 2, opened its doors in 2007. In 2013 the second branch was sold, and now Wendy and her team are putting all their love and energy into the Kensington salon.
Career in the UK – A country girl from the Mallee, in country Victoria, Wendy trained in Melbourne, then spent a period in the Cornwall region (United Kingdom). There she enjoyed the experience of starting her own hair salon, when she was only 20-years-old, before returning to Melbourne. To keep up-to-date with the latest international trends and see inspirational hair cutters in action, Wendy and her team of hairdressers attend hair events every year.
